The last few Christmas’ I was living in my old flat at Leadmill Court, which never really had a decent space or corner for a proper tree. Because of this, I had a smaller (2ft I think) fibre optic tree instead - which did the job, but was never quite the same.
This year however I am in my new flat of course, which amongst other things has much more space in the living room (not to mention being higher because of the upstairs (mezzanine) floor not going above the main area).
So, last Wednesday (9th Dec) I met up with Mum, Sarah and Han for an afternoon’s shopping at Meadowhall - and on the way back we stopped off at Homebase and I picked up my first proper sized Christmas tree.
After looking at several different options, I eventually went for the 7ft tree - and a good selection of silver decorations.
Having got it home and spent the evening putting the tree together then decorating it, I’m really happy with the result as I think it looks really good… I’m also glad however that I didn’t let Sarah talk me into getting the even bigger 8ft tree!
Anyway, I’ve added some photos of the tree to my “Xmas 2009″ gallery - so check them out!
Just been sent this video by a friend… absolutely brilliant! Love it!
Ever since buying my new computer a little over 2 years ago, it has been running the beached whale that is Windows Vista… today, finally, that has changed!
Yesterday my copy of the latest version of the OS, Windows 7, arrived in the post and, after spending last night backing everything up onto my new 1TB USB hard-drive, this evening I have now formatted my computer clean again and installed Windows 7.
So far it’s still a little bare having only installed the basics (anti-virus, Firefox, World of Warcraft from my backup, and Spotify), but I’m loving what I’m seeing.
Scunthorpe’s season in the Championship has so far been a strange mixture of fantastic wins (not least beating Derby 2-1 at home and Palace 4-0 away!) with poor performances and large losses (losing 4-0 away to both Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday - the latter of which we went to).
Currently we’re in the middle of a double-header of huge home games… on Saturday we hosted Sheffield United - a match that Mum and I went to and witnessed one of the best Scunthorpe performances we’ve seen live (perhaps with the exception of the two Wembley matches at the end of last season), in the end getting a fantastic 3-1 win!
Today I have taken the day off work, as tonight is possibly the biggest home game of our entire season… Newcastle United! The entire family is going (myself, Mum, Han, Sarah and Mike) and even though the match is not until this evening, I am already starting to get nervous and excited!
Over the past year I have managed to lose quite a fair amount of weight - around 3 1/2 to 4 stone! While most would agree this is very good progress, the problem is these days I have plenty to lose!
As well as I have done so far, unfortunately lately I seem to have plateaued… with plenty of weight still needing to be shifted. So, after much deliberating, I finally bit the bullet and have bought myself my own treadmill!
